What is an elder? The holy bible spells out at least five duties and obligations of an elder however, if you are reading this page you are not looking for a long lesson on the subject but perhaps someone to talk with, pray with or ask questions of. Elders are peacemakers, prayer partners, teachers, leaders leading by example. They are the leaders of the church. It is a position not taken lightly. "Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, for you know that we who teach shall be judged with greater strictness" (James 3:1)
